This mother-son duo of health professionals,  wrote the book small change in 2005. It has since evolved into a health promotion strategy that teaches individuals how to  maintain or improve their quality of life.

The premise behind small change is simple:  Regardless of the challenges that one faces, the solution begins with taking the small steps.  small change is a step in the right direction.

About the book

small change a 28- day guide to eating, thinking, and feeling healthier (2005) is based on our philosophy that:

·         Lasting change must begin on the inside and when you change on the inside, the outside appearance begins to change.

·         Old habits are hard to break; you should tackle them one at a time, one day at a time.

·         Improving your health is really about time, the time you take to focus on yourself.

·         There are 1,440 minutes in a day; you need only 30 minutes of those minutes each day in order to begin to make a difference in the way you think and feel.

·         Any self-help guide must be practical.  small change is written in practical language that is easy to understand.

·         Prevention on the front end saves tons of dollars on the backend.

small change consists of four main components:

·         “Kindle the Spirit:” 28 days of spiritual such as gratitude journaling; incorporating laughter into you day; pampering yourself; and appreciation

·         “Feast on This:” 28 days of meal plans; eating in moderation; and choosing the right time to dine.

·         “Bottoms Up:” 28 days of health tips on the benefits of drinking water and increasing your daily water intake.

·         “We Like the Way You Move:” gets you physically moving in small steps.
